Job Title: Controls Engineer
Job Description
The Controls Engineer will lead automation projects with a focus on electrical and controls engineering that align with strategic business goals. This role involves system design, modifications, capital projects, and equipment troubleshooting to support Data Solutions.
Responsibilities
+ Design and implement control systems for manufacturing processes, including electrical design, PLC programming, HMI development, and SCADA systems.
+ Develop product tracking systems, including MES integration using PLCs, SCADA, Vision Systems, ERP Systems, and Databases.
+ Propose and implement equipment upgrades and optimizations to enhance reliability.
+ Develop technical requirements for vendors to bid and construct custom machines and control systems.
+ Provide advanced troubleshooting and repair support for production.
+ Lead projects aligned with organizational goals such as safety, productivity, and cost savings.
+ Create and manage project plans, including resources, costs, benefits, and schedules.
+ Communicate project status to stakeholders and ensure project results are sustained.
+ Support and lead capital expenditure requests and implementations using cost justification and business management principles.
+ Participate in design reviews to evaluate safety, mechanical robustness, and electrical/controls standardization.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in Automation and Controls Engineering.
+ Proficiency in PLC programming, particularly Allen Bradley PLCs.
+ Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
+ 3+ years' experience in Controls Engineering.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
+ Experience with robotics and machine vision is advantageous.
+ Experience in Electrical CAD design is beneficial.
Work Environment
This position is 100% onsite, with approximately 60% of the time spent on the floor troubleshooting and working with equipment. The company is growing and supports numerous data centers and solutions.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
