Job Title: Controls EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to design, install, and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, motion control, robot, and vision software solutions. This role requires developing solutions consistent with our company design standards and meeting customer requirements for assigned projects. You will work closely with Project Managers, Mechanical Design, and Electrical Design teams to ensure machine functions align with software solutions.

Responsibilities

+ Design, install, and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, motion control, robot, and vision software solutions.

+ Collaborate with Project Managers, Mechanical Design, and Electrical Design teams to understand machine functions.

+ Support the Electrical Design Engineering team by participating in design reviews and providing technical guidance.

+ Identify and provide reliable solutions for technical issues to ensure complete customer satisfaction.

+ Provide technical support to customers.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in PLC programming and automation.

+ Experience with Allen-Bradley, Rockwell systems, and Allen Bradley PLC.

+ Knowledge of machine vision, servo motors, and motion control.

+ Experience with Fanuc Robots and electrical design.

+ Understanding of structured software design principles.

+ Ability to troubleshoot and debug complex automation systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ BS degree preferred with 3+ years of experience; AAS degreed candidates will also be considered.

+ Proficiency in using and programming various PLC, HMI, robot, motion control, LabVIEW, and machine vision software applications.

+ Knowledge of safety policies related to equipment projects, including lockout/tagout, electrical safety, arc flash safety, and robotic systems safety.

Work Environment

This is a 100% onsite role working with machines in a small company atmosphere of about 12 employees in Brooklyn Park. Occasional travel may be required to local customers, with less than 10% travel out of state or to other locations for support. The company is backed by a global organization with headquarters in Germany and North American headquarters in Ohio.

This is a Permanent position based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
