Job Title: Senior Estimator

Job Description

The Senior Estimator will play a pivotal role in the estimating and competitive bidding process by carefully evaluating bid specifications and drawings for all assigned projects. This position involves gathering subcontractor and material supplier quotes and proposals, as well as analyzing blueprints, specifications, and related documents to assemble accurate estimates of labor, material, and schedule requirements. These estimates are essential to determine the overall project cost. The role demands advanced analytical skills and a comprehensive understanding of construction means and methods, including the ability to conduct site surveys and actively participate in preconstruction planning meetings. Additionally, the role involves preparing and submitting final bid packages promptly, reflecting a commitment to accuracy and excellence in the estimation process.

Responsibilities

+ Evaluate bid specifications and drawings for assigned projects.

+ Gather and analyze subcontractor and material supplier quotes and proposals.

+ Analyze blueprints, specifications, and related documents to create accurate estimates.

+ Determine labor, material, and schedule requirements for project cost estimation.

+ Conduct site surveys and participate in preconstruction planning meetings.

+ Prepare and submit final bid packages in a timely manner.

+ Oversee clerical support staff to effectively tender and collect trade pricing.

Essential Skills

+ 8+ years of experience as a Project Manager and/or Estimator.

+ Strong analytical and mathematical skills for precise take-offs and bid calculations.

+ In-depth knowledge of construction means and methods.

+ Experience with commercial construction.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience using Sage and Estimating software.

+ Knowledge in construction management, change order, OSHA, project coordination, and RFIs.

+ Experience with Bluebeam software.

+ Background in Retail, Commercial, and Distribution Center projects.

Work Environment

The role is based in Fort Worth with 25% travel, while 75% of the time will be spent in the office. The office is an open and fast-paced environment with cubicles, where multiple conversations and meetings can make it occasionally loud. It is a dog-friendly office, allowing employees to bring well-behaved dogs to work during office hours.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Fort Worth, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
