Job Title: Resident Project Representative
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Resident Project Representative to oversee construction and rehabilitation projects related to municipal water distribution systems and wastewater collection systems. This role requires conducting on-site observations to ensure progress and quality align with contract documents, serving as the engineer’s liaison with contractors, and maintaining comprehensive project records.
Responsibilities
+ Conduct on-site observations to monitor progress and quality of work according to contract documents.
+ Serve as the engineer's liaison with the contractor.
+ Maintain detailed records, including a daily logbook and updated drawings with authorized changes.
+ Review the contractor’s applications for payment for compliance with established procedures.
+ Attend meetings such as preconstruction conferences, progress meetings, and job conferences.
+ Comply with site safety programs.
+ Assist engineers in liaising between the owner and contractor and obtaining additional information as required.
+ Remain on the job site throughout the project’s construction phase.
+ Review progress schedules, shop drawings, sample submittals, and other contractor submissions.
+ Forward recommendations to the assigned engineer.
Essential Skills
+ Professional experience in construction and/or inspection of underground utilities systems, including water lines, sanitary sewer lines, and treatment plants.
+ Ability to read and understand civil construction plans and specifications.
+ Proficiency in computer skills including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
+ Experience with construction inspection, preferably with civil consulting firms.
+ Ability and willingness to travel and stay overnight at project sites.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in civil inspection, preferably in water/wastewater systems.
+ Familiarity with testing methods for water/sewer pipe installations, such as pressure testing, air testing, and disinfection testing.
+ Experience with construction oversight and liaison roles.
Work Environment
This position requires travel throughout the State of Indiana, with the possibility of overnight stays in hotels or company-provided apartments. Candidates will use their personal vehicles, with mileage reimbursed. Standard construction hours are 7 AM to 4 PM, with potential for overtime up to 50+ hours as needed. Projects are typically within 60-90 minutes of the candidate's home, but flexibility to work out of town is necessary. The work involves managing projects designed by the company, providing a stable and autonomous work environment with opportunities for growth and impact in local communities.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, Indiana.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $39.42/hr.
