    Summary This position is part of the Air Force Elements, U.S. Transportation Command. Responsibilities As a STORAGE SPECIALIST at the GS-2030-12 some of your typical work assignments may include: Serve as a Senior Storage Specialist and Alternate Program Manager within the Defense Personal Property Program (DP3), providing support to the Storage-in-Transit (SIT) and NTS Programs. Serve as a Quality Control Monitor for over 900 Transportations Service Providers (TSP) and over 2,000 domestic storage facilities within DP3. Monitor and evaluates changes in the performance work statements; changes to surveillance plans; technical exhibits; and changes in service provider's work priorities. Maintain liaison and direct communications with industry service providers, serving as a communication focal point for service provider representatives. Monitor service provider performance, and conducts on-site investigations of unusual incidents/occurrences (fires, floods, etc.). Participate with directing and reviewing the actions of Quality Control Monitors and review unsatisfactory Quality Reports to verify accuracy. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications You may qualify at the GS-12, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service: Monitoring, inspecting, reviewing, and verifying service provider's work performance under the Non Temporary Storage program. Conducting pre-award surveys and regular and special inspection of commercial facilities to evaluate facilities in the Non-Temporary Storage Program and Storage-in-Transit Program. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level. Additional Information Status candidates must meet time-in-grade requirements (52 weeks at the next lower grade level).
