Job Title: Medical Assistant
Job Description
As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the medical team by managing patient follow-ups, updating patient data, and handling inbound calls. You will be responsible for ordering labs, relaying lab results, and scheduling follow-ups while using your medical experience to provide excellent patient care.
Responsibilities
+ Conduct patient follow-ups and update patient records via data entry.
+ Answer and manage inbound phone calls with professionalism.
+ Order labs and relay lab results to the appropriate parties.
+ Schedule follow-up appointments efficiently.
+ Utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, specifically Athena, to maintain accurate patient information.
Essential Skills
+ 1+ year of experience in Medical Assisting
+ Proficiency in EMR systems, particularly Athena
+ Strong understanding of medical terminology and patient care
+ High School Diploma
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Medical Assisting diploma or certification
+ Experience in appointment scheduling and clinical support
+ Customer service skills, particularly in a healthcare setting
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
+ Knowledge of insurance processing
Work Environment
This position is based onsite at a clinic, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Haines City, Florida.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
