Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team on a contract basis in Des Moines, Iowa. In this role, you will handle a variety of accounting tasks, including managing accounts payable and receivable, processing invoices, and maintaining accurate financial records. This position requires proficiency with QuickBooks, strong data entry skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Manage accounts payable and ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices.

• Handle accounts receivable duties, including generating and tracking invoices and payments.

• Perform data entry tasks to maintain up-to-date and accurate financial records.

• Utilize QuickBooks to record and reconcile financial transactions.

• Review and verify financial documents for accuracy and completeness.

• Assist in preparing financial reports and summaries as needed.

• Communicate with vendors and clients to resolve billing and payment inquiries.

• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

• Support the accounting team with additional administrative and clerical duties as required. Requirements • Proven experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.

• Proficiency in QuickBooks and other relevant accounting software.

• Strong data entry skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.

• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Effective communication skills for vendor and client interactions.

• High level of organization and problem-solving ability.

• Associate’s degree in accounting or a related field is preferred.
