    Description

    We are looking for an experienced FP& A Manager to join our team in Arlington, Virginia. In this short-term contract position, you will play a key role in supporting month-end financial reporting and analysis for numerous departments within our organization. This role offers flexibility and requires collaboration with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial documentation and reporting.

    Responsibilities:

    • Compile and finalize monthly financial reports to provide clear insights into organizational performance.

    • Review financial statements for over 30 departments to ensure accuracy and compliance.

    • Evaluate general ledger transaction reports and identify necessary adjustments.

    • Analyze budget and forecast variances to detect discrepancies and recommend corrections.

    • Support the preparation and documentation of significant and non-routine accounting transactions.

    • Collaborate with the accounting team to adhere to month-end close schedules and deadlines.

    • Ensure timely delivery of management-level financial results reporting.

    • Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting processes and implement enhancements.

    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting principles and practices relevant to higher education.

    Requirements

    • Proven experience in financial analysis, reporting, and projections.

    • Strong expertise in performing variance analysis, trend analysis, and month-end close processes.

    • Proficiency in preparing detailed and accurate financial reports.

    • Familiarity with financial planning tools such as Adaptive Planning or other comparable systems.

    • Ability to work independently while meeting strict deadlines.

    • Exceptional analytical, modeling, and problem-solving skills.

    • Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

    • Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
