Equipment Mechanic

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled mechanic to diagnose mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment. The role involves performing routine maintenance on machinery to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance, as well as repairing or replacing defective parts and components. The mechanic will perform novice-level welding repairs (MIG & SMAW) and handle major and minor repairs on diesel and gas engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and drive trains. Inspections, servicing, and testing of equipment to ensure performance meets manufacturer specifications are also required. Accurate maintenance of repair records and collaboration with team members to troubleshoot complex mechanical problems is essential. Adherence to safety protocols and maintaining a clean work environment is mandatory.

Responsibilities

+ Diagnose mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.

+ Perform routine maintenance on machinery to prevent breakdowns.

+ Repair or replace defective parts and components in machinery.

+ Perform novice-level welding repairs (MIG & SMAW).

+ Conduct major and minor repairs on diesel and gas engines, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and drive trains.

+ Inspect, service, and test equipment to ensure performance to manufacturer specifications.

+ Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and inspections performed.

+ Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot complex mechanical problems.

+ Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.

Essential Skills

+ 3-5 years of experience as a diesel mechanic.

+ 2+ years experience with performing diagnostics and repairs.

+ 2+ years experience troubleshooting and diagnosing skills with electrical and hydraulic systems.

+ 1+ year experience troubleshooting diesel engines, including Tier 4 and aftertreatment systems.

+ 3+ years experience with electrical troubleshooting, hydraulics, pneumatics, and drive trains.

Work Environment

The work environment involves a standard shift from 7 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Friday. Uniforms are provided and cleaned for free, and employees are expected to maintain a clean and safe workspace. The role requires collaboration with team members and adherence to safety protocols at all times.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $35.00/hr.
