Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team on a permanent basis. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities, with a focus on both distribution (70%) and facilities maintenance (30%). The position is full-time, Monday to Friday, from 7 am to 4 pm.

Responsibilities

+ Perform technical troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of all equipment and company assets.

+ Conduct preventative maintenance on production equipment such as conveyor lines, lighting, motors, air compressors, stretch wrappers, carton erectors, and heat tunnels.

+ Repair facility infrastructure including plumbing systems, HVAC systems, electrical systems, and racking systems.

+ Complete and record routine inspections of key equipment and infrastructure within the first 60 days.

+ Independently troubleshoot and resolve tier 1 facilities issues such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC within 45 days.

+ Coordinate maintenance and repair plans with top vendors within the first 90 days.

+ Identify and implement at least three preventative maintenance opportunities within the first six months.

+ Collaborate with operations leadership on production floor improvement projects within the first six months.

+ Support the rollout and adoption of the new CMMS asset management system ensuring accurate asset data and maintenance scheduling within 12 months.

Essential Skills

+ Experience as a maintenance technician in a warehouse or distribution environment.

+ Experience with conveyors, shrink wrappers, and other warehouse equipment.

+ Ability to work at heights.

+ Willingness to perform 20-25% facilities or building type maintenance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in HVAC and plumbing is a plus.

Work Environment

The work environment is within temperature-controlled distribution centers equipped with racking, conveyors, and dock doors. The facilities are equipped with forklifts and other material handling equipment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vernon Hills, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $43.00/hr.
