    Job Title: 2nd Shift TIG Welder

    Job Description

    We are seeking a skilled 2nd Shift TIG Welder to join our team. This position involves working with a variety of materials, including sheet metal, carbon steel, aluminum, stainless steel, and copper. The ideal candidate will perform weldments with exceptional appearance and ensure no leaks, while also assisting in training and maintaining a clean work area.

    Responsibilities

    + Weld a variety of materials such as sheet metal, carbon steel, aluminum, stainless steel, and copper with no leaks.

    + Perform weldments with exceptional appearance.

    + Conduct inter-piping, including fitting, aligning, and adjustments.

    + Operate hand-welding and flame-cutting equipment such as oxyacetylene torches.

    + Read blueprints and drawings to identify welding measurements and positions.

    + Troubleshoot product issues with assistance.

    + Monitor equipment operation to ensure proper heat settings and weld tip.

    + Perform preventative maintenance on welding machines.

    + Use a variety of air and electric hand tools.

    + Assist in training Welder I and II.

    + Perform leak tests.

    + Operate crane forklifts.

    + Ensure compliance with safety protocols by wearing protective glasses, gloves, masks, ear plugs, and boots.

    + Keep an organized and clean work area.

    + Perform additional duties as needed, including weld and assembly and training on laser weld pans.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficient in TIG welding.

    + Experience with thin gauge metals.

    + Pipe welding techniques including arc, MIG, and TIG welding.

    + Blueprint reading experience.

    + Experience welding with aluminum and stainless steel.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + 6G Certifications.

    + Experience with pressure vessels.

    + Vocational schooling.

    + Approximately 3 years of experience, which can include schooling.

    Work Environment

     

    The work hours are from 2:15 pm to 12:45 am with potential flexibility, including up to 10 extra hours a week and a 5-hour shift on Saturdays. Our team consists of 9 people, including 6 TIG welders and 3 MIG welders, in a laid-back environment where training is hands-on. Weld areas for coil and sheet metal are separated. The dress code includes boots, long pants with no holes, and flame-retardant shirts.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dixon, Illinois.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $27.00/hr.
