Job Title: Forklift Operator

Job Description

As a Forklift Operator, you will play a critical role in loading and unloading inbound and outbound freight from vehicles and containers. You will sort freight according to size and destination, ensuring efficient movement and tracing processes. Additionally, you will be responsible for reconciling driver pick-up and delivery manifests, as well as labeling, weighing, and dimensionalizing freight. Maintaining a safe and clean dock area is essential, and you will record any damaged shipments and misrouted freight.

Responsibilities

+ Load and unload freight to and from vehicles and containers.

+ Sort freight according to size and destination.

+ Read, decode, and decipher freight coding to expedite freight movement and tracing.

+ Reconcile driver pick-up and delivery manifests.

+ Label, weigh, and dimensionalize freight.

+ Ensure safety and cleanliness of dock through cleanup activities.

+ Record damaged shipments and misrouted freight on applicable reports.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in operating a forklift.

+ Material handling expertise.

+ Inventory management skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience as a Forklift Operator.

+ Experience as an Equipment Operator.

+ Competence in material counting.

Work Environment

This role offers flexible shifts to accommodate various schedules: Sunday-Wednesday with 1st shift from 6:00am-4:30pm, 2nd shift from 4:00pm-2:30am, and 3rd shift from 10:00pm-8:30am; Wednesday-Saturday with the same shift options; and Friday-Monday from 6:00am-6:30pm. The work environment is designed to prioritize safety and cleanliness.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Independence, Kentucky.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
