About the role Leviton is seeking a Senior Engineer of Cloud Services to join our innovative team driving the future of IoT, smart home, and automation technologies. In this role, the Cloud Services Engineer will be deeply involved in the full product development lifecycle, collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring cutting-edge ideas to life. Responsibilities Develop innovative software solutions aligned with business-unit strategy for new platforms and products. Collaborate with global teams including engineers, product managers, and UX designers to architect scalable cloud-based solutions. Design and develop proof-of-concepts, product specifications, and backend systems. Lead brainstorming and technical discussions to identify optimal solutions for customer needs. Research and evaluate new technologies for potential integration into products and services. Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to ensure high-quality software delivery. Write and maintain complex code for advanced programming assignments. Troubleshoot and resolve high-priority technical issues. Prepare and oversee project plans and statements of work. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers. Design and implement cloud service APIs, unit tests, and client libraries. Lead integration efforts for cloud services across engineering and application teams. Qualifications Proven ability to develop innovative cloud solutions and work collaboratively in a team environment. Advanced proficiency in JavaScript and Node.js. Familiarity with NoSQL, MySQL, and microservices architecture. Proficiency with Git or other source control systems. Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills. High attention to detail and ability to analyze complex requirements. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of professional software development experience. Extensive experience in cloud-based application development and deployment. Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and working with frameworks like Express.js or LoopBack. Hands-on experience deploying and monitoring applications in AWS or similar cloud infrastructure. Experience with Agile and Test-Driven Development (TDD) methodologies.
