We help our customers move the world. Position Overview: Siemens Mobility is seeking an Assistant Manager for our 3 rd Shift team in West Palm Beach, FL. In this role you will have responsibility for the safe and reliable execution of the long-term maintenance contract for a fleet of high-tech trains. This contract consists of Tier 4 compliant high-horsepower locomotives in a push-pull configuration with elegant coaches to deliver a luxury customer experience. These trains will run up to 125 mph from Orlando to Miami 7 days a week! This position will work 3 rd shift and your work week will include weekdays and weekends and holidays. We have responsibility for a best-in-class maintenance team to meet the needs of a demanding customer schedule. You'll work on the 3rd shift. We incorporate safety as it is the highest priority in all activities, processes, and operations. The diverse team will continue to build an attitude of continuous improvement in their approach to the challenges a long-term maintenance contract has against a fast-paced schedule with only the minimum downtime of the rolling stock. **Are you ready to roll?!** You will assist in recruiting, building, training, and empowering a proficient, high-performance maintenance team, establishing operational maintenance strategies, including Overhauls, and implementing critical productivity and efficiency measurements. The maintenance practices and processes require a condition-based approach in coordination with meeting FRA regulations. We're looking for an ambitious and can-do attitude to ensure the team selects and implements the best solutions to complex problems that can occur in a long-term maintenance environment. What your day-to-day will look like: + Developmaintenance, overhaul, and repair operation by estimating, forecasting,and anticipating requirements, trends, and variances. + Developand implement plans; measure and analyze results; initiating correctiveactions; minimize variances' impact; continuously improve processes. + Maintaina very close working relationship with the Customer to ensure the teamexceeds their expectations in contracted service levels. + Ensureall organization activities and operations align with local, state, andfederal/national regulations and laws. + Planand lead all resources including people, plant, material, tools, andthird-party services to meet the operational requirements. + Activelyencourage identification of continuous improvement activities andimplement any with significant cost and labor savings. + Participatein regular reviews with customer representatives and demonstrate improvedproduct performance and customer satisfaction by supporting them in theirbusiness objectives. + Developa high-performance culture with strong employee engagement using theSiemens People Management policies and tools, To thrive in this role, you have: + Bachelor'sdegree in business, engineering, or technical field of study. Inlieu of a Bachelor’s degree relevant technical work experience will beconsidered. + Anexcellent record of leadership with 2+ years of supervisory/team leadexperience, 3+ years of railroad maintenance experience preferred, orsimilar industrial environment experience and/or military experience willbe considered. + Proficiencyin capacity and workforce planning + Abilityto develop and maintain appropriate critical metrics. + Aconsistent track record of operational accomplishments from amulti-product and refurbishment/overhaul environment. + Basic Mechanical/Electrical knowledge, structured failure analysis, failuresearch, understanding of the customer, strategic planning, technicalmanagement, promoting process improvement, maintenance control planning,developing standards, supervising budget expenses, documentation skills,control engineering, and quality management. + Settingyou apart from others would be 3+ years of rail maintenance experience,and experience in dealing with the FRA / CFRs, as well as knowledge ofapplicable laws and regulations.
