Position Overview:
The Siemens Project Management Office (PMO) is looking for a Project Manager - Customer Services (CS) to join our team in Electrification and Automation (EA). The Electrification & Automation business unit covers the entire spectrum for power distribution systems and service solutions. As a CS Project Manager, you will be responsible for the successful execution of projects, from project initiation through final closeout. You will work in a matrix style organization requiring excellent coordination skills and the ability to manage competing priorities. Headquartered in Wendell, NC, the EA PMO executes a diverse portfolio of projects, and this position will be focused on service solutions within our Customer Services business. This position can be remote or based out of Wendell, NC
Project and System Types:
Project Types - installation and commissioning, turn key, design build, engineer, procure, construct (EPC), power system studies, maintenance outage testing and electrical system emergency response/disaster recovery, electrical retrofit managing teams of field service engineers as well as 3rd party suppliers, consultants and contractors
Product types: Low and medium voltage air insulated switchgear, medium voltage gas insulated switchgear and switches, low voltage panelboards and automatic transfer switches, air and liquid filled transformers, motor control centers, medium voltage contactors, integrated ehouse electrical solution systems, battery systems, electrical cable systems and busways, cable, connectors and supporting systems.
You’ll make a difference by:
+ Lead all project phases from initiation to completion, ensuring safety, quality, budget, and schedule compliance.
+ Proactively identify and mitigate safety and project risks.
+ Communicate effectively with teams, stakeholders, and customers, providing regular progress, budget, and status updates.
+ Manage customer expectations, change orders, and field service coordination.
+ Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and third parties to plan resources, schedules, and work you're doing.
+ Oversee vendor contracts, pricing, and performance to meet project goals.
+ Ensure all project and service requirements are understood and fulfilled.
+ Track project performance against budget and schedule; develop recovery plans as needed.
+ Provide lessons learned to improve future project offers and execution.
+ Partner with finance for forecasting and revenue tracking.
Basic Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
+ 5+ years of direct service project management experience.
+ 5+ years of written and verbal communication skills, to present complex issues to multi-level audiences and effectively communicate progress, status and issues to internal and external Customers.
+ Applicants must be authorized for employment in the U.S. without the need for employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Engineering or construction management degree or equivalent experience
+ PMP certification – while not required immediately for this role, for those who do not have it already, obtaining PMP certification is required within 1 year of employment
+ Experience in specific industry related to service project e.g., field service, EPC projects, construction, energy, manufacturing
+ An understanding of medium and/or high voltage electrical equipment
+ An understanding of datacenter construction projects
+ Experience with MS Project or other relevant scheduling software
+ Strong leadership skills with experience in leading cross-functional project teams
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, to present complex issues to multi-level audiences and effectively communicate progress, status, and issues to internal and external Customers.
