Position Overview:
We seek an experienced Project Manager with a consistent
track record of leading sophisticated projects in the transportation industry
with a preference for that experience in the rail industry. Experience with
Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC) is highly valued. This specific
project with its setup is the first of its kind in North America! Join this
long-term, innovative, and groundbreaking effort to enhance the service and
support efforts for autonomous train operations across the country. This
position will be hybrid based in New York City, NY.
What your day-to-day will look like:
+ Defineproject scope, goals, and deliverables that support the business goals andrequirements in collaboration with account sales executives, seniormanagement, and partners.
+ Meetwith clients to take detailed user requirements and clarify specificrequirements for the project's contracted scope(s).
+ Developcomplete project plans and associated communications documents. Estimatethe resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
+ Implementour project process and management principles to all aspects of theproject scope and deliverables.
+ Effectivelycommunicate project expectations to all partners in a timely andtransparent fashion. Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals,requirements documentation, and presentations.
+ Meetbudgetary objectives and adjust project constraints based on financialanalysis. Use appropriate verification techniques to handle changes inproject scope, schedule, and costs.
+ Performrisk management to minimize project risks.
+ Setand continually manage project expectations with team members and otherpartners: delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
+ Identifyand handle project dependencies and critical paths.
+ Trackproject landmarks and deliverables.
+ Defineproject success criteria and disseminate them to involved partiesthroughout the project life cycle.
+ Coach,mentor, empower and supervise project teams and contractors, and influencethem to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
+ Build,develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the project'ssuccess.
+ Conductproject postmortems and craft a recommendation report to identifysuccessful and unsuccessful project elements.
+ Abilityto lead/direct emergency support calls due to requirements of the contractthat call for after-hour backing in the event of an emergency (24X7X365).
To thrive in this role, you have:
+ HighSchool Diploma or GED,
+ 8+years of experience in a Technical Project Management function,
+ Minimum2 years of experience in Communications-Based Train Control Maintenance,
+ Experiencemanaging significant level projects ($40M+ range),
+ Willingto work primarily from the client's office location based in New YorkCity, NY, throughout the Requirements and Implementation phases of theproject,
+ Experiencecollaborating with customers and leading customer interactions,
