    Description

    Position Summary: Responsible for the repair, maintenance, installation and overhaul of all PVSC vehicles and associated equipment.

    Minimum Requirements

    Requirements: Must have solid knowledge of gasoline and diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and other related equipment, as well as knowledge of auto body maintenance and garage practices. Must be able to read, understand and use automotive repair manuals and pneumatic/hydraulic schematics. Must have knowledge of the safety precautions that must be exercised during mechanical and auto body repair tasks. Must be available for emergencies/job assignments on a 24-hour basis.

     

    Experience, Licenses and Certifications: Minimum four (4) years’ experience with automotive equipment repair in a shop with a modern preventive maintenance and inventory control program.

     

    Must possess a valid N.J. driver's license with a minimum CDL Class B endorsement. Class A preferred. Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification also preferred but not required.

     

    Education: High School Diploma or Equivalency Certificate required. Advanced training from an accredited technical or trade school is preferred but not required.

     

    The expected base pay range for this position is $76,950 to $96,332. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications, education, training, and formal credentials.

    Working Conditions: Workers are employed in conditions associated with a wastewater treatment plant and sewer collection system and will be required to work indoors and outdoors.
