    Position Summary:

    The Sr. Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for the development, implementation, and execution of learning and development initiatives across the organization. This role evaluates and identifies workforce skill gaps, designs and produces effective learning materials, and supports the delivery of programs aligned with business priorities to drive employee performance and organizational growth.

     

    This self-directed role, performed with minimal supervision, interacts with leaders and employees at all levels to maintain and improve the effectiveness of employee development and learning programs. They role will also be responsible for educating and supporting a train-the-trainer model to upskill the delivering of on-the-job training, promote and facilitate continuous improvement and provide general support to the facility for the interpretation and application of internal and external learning and development programs.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Partner with departments to assess skill gaps and develop targeted learning programs; serve as an internal resource to build employee capabilities.

    + Maintain all learning content (instructor‑led, virtual, e‑learning) and source programs that close skills gaps for AA TECH employees.

    + Lead the apprentice program and monitor progress toward competency and completion.

    + Manage and maintain job descriptions, career frameworks, and documented progression pathways across the organization.

    + Partner with leaders and subject-matter experts to prioritize development initiatives that align with business objectives.

    + Research and incorporate current training methods and best practices, including VR- and AI-enabled learning solutions.

    + Design, manage, and support the WINGS internal leadership development program, ensuring curriculum, facilitation, and evaluation align with business objectives.

    + Monitor and evaluate OJT effectiveness and update training materials and plans as needed.

    + Meet regularly with managers to identify learning topics and proactively address areas needing additional instruction.

    + Deliver classroom and virtual sessions using lectures, role-play, simulations, discussions, and facilitation; create course outlines, lesson plans, assessments, visuals, and handouts.

    + Develop and maintain a Leadership Handbook that outlines company policies, best practices, and available learning resources.

    + Maintain the L&D “Talent Marketplace” Document Library

    + Facilitate administration and debriefing of DISC assessments and 360° feedback processes, providing actionable insights and recommended development plans.

    + Maintain accurate training records and generate reports on participation, completion, and learning outcomes.

    Required Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in HR, Education or related field.

    + A minimum of 3-5 years in development and delivery of training content

    + Experience in manufacturing or related environment preferred. Manufacturing process and skill trades expertise a plus.

    + Ability to communicate effectively with management and employees at all levels of the organization.

    + Extensive knowledge of best practices in creating instructional materials. Experience providing full-scope learning materials, from analyzing company needs to lesson planning, development and implementation. Proficient using Microsoft Suite, as well as learning creation software.

    + Ability to effectively organize and manage multiple learning initiatives simultaneously.

    + Strong understanding of business goals and standards for customer service. Experience managing social media channels and producing engaging content; familiarity with analytics and basic marketing tools (e.g., Canva, Articulate, Power Bi) Basic knowledge of adult learning theories and principles.
