The anticipated salary range for this role is between $130,000.00 and $205,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.
Role Description
SMBC Americas is seeking a Digital & Social Media Manager to lead develop and deliver a comprehensive strategy to effectively leverage social media and our webpage to supporting business goals while enhancing and protecting the reputation of SMBC.
The role requires intellectual curiosity, strong writing skills, deep social and digital expertise, and an ability to engage in cross-functional collaboration with senior leaders as well as social teams in Tokyo, Singapore and London.
The role is based in the New York office and reports to the Head of Communications, Americas Division.
Role Objectives
+ Develop and implement a digital content and social media strategy for the SMBC Americas that is aligned with the bank’s business priorities, including paid and organic campaigns.
+ Monitor and analyze performance metrics across platforms to optimize content strategy.
+ Partner with internal stakeholders to align social media efforts with business goals and educate teams on best practices.
+ Continuously assess and enhance SMBC’s digital presence, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement.
+ Build and maintain a content library for the Hearsay platform.
+ Act as subject matter expert on social media trends, tools, and emerging platforms, providing strategic guidance and training as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
+ B.A. or B.S. degree with 5–8 years of relevant experience, preferably within financial services or a similarly regulated industry.
+ Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to transform complex financial topics into clear, engaging content.
+ Strong project management capabilities and the ability to manage multiple priorities to meet tight deadlines.
+ Deep understanding of social media platforms, content management systems, and digital publishing tools.
+ Experience with analytics platforms and a data-driven approach to content strategy and campaign optimization.
+ Familiarity with design tools such as the Adobe Creative Suite
+ Knowledge of AI applications in communications is a strong advantage.
