    Job Description:

    GDIT is seeking a **Marine Electrician** to help support the **SACSS** program in Chula Vista, California.

     

    This is an onsite position, and no relocation assistance is provided.

     

    Must be a US Citizen

    Job Description:

    + Installs, maintains, repairs, overhauls, troubleshoots, modifies, constructs, and tests mechanical equipment and related devices

    + Troubleshoots and corrects structural placement

    + Makes recommendations for improvements or modifications to correct problems

    + May provide operation and maintenance instruction to customer personnel

    + Performs preventative maintenance

    + Participates in special projects, as required

    + Repairs, installs, replaces, and tests electrical circuits, cables, equipment, and appliances.

    + Uses hand tools and testing equipment

    + Inspects and tests electrical equipment, lighting, signal, communication, and power circuits

    + Isolates defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment using general and specialized testing equipment

    + Replaces faulty switches, sockets, and other elements of electrical systems

    + Dismantles electrical machinery and replaces defective electrical or mechanical parts such as gears, brushes, and armatures

    + Mounts motors, transformers, and lighting fixtures into position and completes circuits according to diagram specifications

    + Works from drawings, blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams

    + Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures

    + Participates in special projects as required

    Requirements:

    + US Citizen

    + Associates Degree or equivalent years of related experience

    + Shipboard electrician 1+ years of experience

    The likely hourly rate for this position is between $29.84 - $40.38. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
