    Brief Job Description

    The payroll coordinator ensures employees are paid accurately and on time by processing payroll information, maintaining employee records, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies. Key responsibilities include verifying timesheets, managing employee data in payroll systems, processing pay adjustments, and responding to employee payroll inquiries.

     

    This role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, proficiency with payroll software, and professionalism and integrity when handling sensitive employee information.

     

    The payroll coordinator serves as a point of contact for employees, addressing inquiries and resolving discrepancies related to their pay, benefits, or tax information. Effective verbal and written communication skills is essential when responding to phone, email and in-person inquiries to build and maintain professional relationships.

     

    This position is also involved in preparing periodic and special payroll-related reports for various departments and management and assisting the department with annual enrollments and reporting requirements.

    Required Qualifications

    Associate’s Degree

     

    Experience in payroll or related field

     

    Experience transferring data into payroll or HRIS systems

     

    Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions

     

    Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize duties, and meet strict deadlines

    Preferred Qualifications

    Experience with NYS / SUNY systems

     

    Knowledge of payroll regulations
