The logistics coordinator is responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and routing freight shipments via all modes within the U.S. and certain shipments between the U.S. and Canada, and the U.S. and Mexico.
Responsibilities
+ Coordinate and schedule freight shipments across various modes of transport within the U.S. and internationally.
+ Ensure timely routing of shipments between the U.S. and Canada, and the U.S. and Mexico.
+ Serve as the direct link between customers and carriers to meet pick-up and delivery times.
+ Ensure equipment requirements are met and that freight arrives on time.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in transportation management software.
+ Basic understanding and experience with Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
+ Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills.
+ Experience or working knowledge of shipping modes, including Drayage LTL, TL, Airfreight, Consolidations, Intermodal.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with management software (e.g., Transportation, Warehouse).
+ An Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain is a plus, but not required.
+ Import/Export or logistics dispatch experience is transferrable.
Work Environment
Operations Coordinators must be onsite every Tuesday and Wednesday if they live within a 25-mile radius of the office in Charlotte, NC. Employees living more than 25 miles from the office have the option for 100% remote flexibility. The role offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience in transportation management software within a global supply-chain services provider, with the potential for direct hire and internal growth.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charlotte, North Carolina.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
