    Position classification

    Hybrid -- Job duties and expectations allow for onsite and remote work scheduled every week. Employees in this classification are regularly scheduled onsite one (1) to four (4) days per week based on the County needs and as determined by Department Director.     We are seeking a professional, caring candidate to provide job coaching and training to caseworkers and supervisors through on-the-job training, stand and deliver trainings, web-based or e-training, coaching, shadowing, reflection, and feedback in order to assess the professional development needs of our staff and identify resources to meet those needs. This candidate will also provide and/or coordinate training to community partners and stakeholders, as requested.

    Examples of Duties for Success

     

    + Assists with the development of the child welfare training program/new employee on- boarding within the Children and Family Services Division. Provides on-the-job training, shadowing, mentoring, coaching, to new and established team members.

    + Provides formal practice coaching for the Child, Adult and Families Services Division.

    + Identifies section specific training needs and develops curriculum based on those identified needs within the Division.

    + Facilitate in-house trainings for team members, including on-the-job, over the shoulder, stand and deliver and e-trainings.

    + Coaches and shadows caseworkers in the office and in the field to strengthen safety and risk assessments and the integration of family engagement skills and

    + Safety Organized Practices tools and techniques. Develops and supports staff members and mentors throughout the Child, Adult and Family Services Division.

    + Provides lead accountability for other employees within work unit, which may include scheduling, assigning, reviewing work, and instructing/training in work methods.

    + Acts as a resource or subject matter expert in all program areas, providing technical guidance to less experienced staff.

     

    Meets with individuals and supervisors to establish agreements and goals of the desired outcomes, skills, and tools/techniques the staff member is seeking coaching on.

     

    + Provides one-to-one coaching/training to staff in field situations, such as home visits, court proceedings, family meetings, or staffing’s.

    + Provides coaching/training to staff focused on identifying, enhancing, and practicing technical skills they will use to effectively engage children and families.

    + Provides one-to-one coaching/training, focused on critical thinking and developing safety and risk statements.

    + Meets and communicates with supervisor and manager regarding progress of team members and planning of future activities.

    + Evaluates the trainer/learner and make recommendations to supervisor and manager with information obtained from evaluations.

    + Building competencies within children and family’s workforce through coachlike conversations.

    + Ability to use and perform the Competency and Developmental Tools/evaluations to ensure skillset and competencies align to a high-level case practice, documentation, and critical thinking.

    + Provides recommendations as to the competency of the caseworker and their ability to complete job related duties independently as required by State Statue, rules and regulations..

    + Ability to provide guidance regarding best practices and decision making/critical thinking.

    + Serves on committees and build and maintain effective relationships with the workforce to best serve the children, youth, and families in Adams County.

    + Prepares and provides comprehensive records, reports, and documentation to supervisors, leadership and People and Culture as requested.

    + Participate in personnel actions as requested.

    + Participates in, and at times facilitates, the Learning Leaders group to provide support to new caseworkers.

    + Obtain or ability to obtain supervisor certification within 1 year.

    + Provides guidance to interns or team members in their daily work as needed.

    + Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required.

    Qualifications for Success

     

    + Strong written and verbal communication techniques for report writing, correspondence, providing customer service, giving presentations, public speaking, directions, and feedback.

    + Ability to provide training to groups and provide coaching/training one-to- one for caseworkers, supervisors, and teams.

    + Ability to prepare and make oral presentations before large groups of people. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

    + Ability to exercise tact and courtesy while in frequent contact with county and other public officials of various levels of authority and influence, as well as the public.

    + Ability to establish, maintain, and foster positive and harmonious working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

    + Computer Skills: Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, and the development of presentation and training materials.

    + Ability to complete and obtain coaching certificate.

    + Consistent history of meeting CSTAT and A-STAT measures and ability to coach/train to CSTAT and A-STAT expectations/measures.

    + Ability to practice and teach all aspects of child protection addressing safety, permanency, and wellbeing. (Preferred experience in both Intake and Ongoing casework).

     

    More Qualifications for Success

     

    Experience: Minimum (4) years of full-time professional social casework experience.

     

    Education and Training: Bachelor's Degree in one of the human behavioral science or related fields. An MSW may substitute for 2 years of the required experience. Proof of education, (degree or transcripts,) and license (if candidate has received one) are required.

    License or Certificate:

    + Colorado Child Welfare Caseworker certification required

    + Possession of a Colorado Driver's License and proof of automotive insurance.

     

    Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check.

    Other:

    + Ability to work in a standard office environment.

    + Ability to utilize personal vehicle or other mode of transportation to make visits to client's homes, travel to court and other public facilities in all types of weather.

    + Ability to lift and carry (1-50 lbs.) infants and small children in the care and custody of the County, as well as the ability to carry large case files.

    + Ability to conduct home visits in unknown and uncontrolled settings which may include animals, feces, airborne contaminants, gang members, weapons, and other environmental hazards.

    + Ability to obtain, maintain, and ensure continued access to State and County systems in strict compliance with all applicable county and state regulations, policies, and user agreements.
