    Your Role at KIK

     

    We are seeking a skilled **Processing Mechanic** to join our team. **The schedule for this role is Monday – Friday, 6:00 am – 3:30 pm with occasional Saturdays.** The ideal candidate will take pride in keeping our processing systems running safely and efficiently by inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing piping systems and related process equipment. Your role involves staying alert to potential leaks or equipment issues, responding quickly to maintenance requests, and supporting production during batching operations. We’re looking for someone with strong mechanical aptitude, knowledge of piping materials (ChemPro, PVC, CPVC, stainless steel), and a commitment to precision and safety. Intermediate computer skills are essential for entering and tracking work orders, maintenance records, and equipment documentation. Clear communication and collaboration are key, as you’ll work closely with Processing, Quality, and Maintenance teams to maintain smooth operations and minimize downtime.     What You’ll Be Doing

    + Inspect, diagnose, and repair leaks in process piping, valves, and fittings.

    + Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to prevent failures and downtime.

    + Replace or install piping sections (ChemPro, PVC, CPVC, stainless steel) as required.

    + Support production during batching by responding promptly to maintenance requests.

    + Assist with repair/replacement of pumps, filter housings, transfer lines, and related process equipment (mixing tanks, valves, flow meters).

    + Maintain documentation of work orders, parts usage, and completed repairs.

    + Follow all plant safety protocols including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), hot work, line break and PPE requirements.

    + Work closely with Processing, Quality, and Maintenance teams to minimize production delays.

    What You’ll Bring

    + High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational/technical training preferred.

    + Minimum of 2 years of experience in pipefitting, mechanical maintenance, or process equipment repair- preferably within a chemical, food, or manufacturing environment.

    + Knowledge of piping systems, gaskets, flanges, and threaded connections.

    + Experience with piping and chemical transfer lines is highly desirable.

    + Ability to read piping diagrams and equipment schematics.

    + Mechanical aptitude with hand tools, torque wrenches, and leak detection equipment.

    + Intermediate computer skills with the ability to enter and track work orders and maintenance records.

    + Strong focus on safety and housekeeping.

    + Ability to lift up to 60lbs
