As aFacility Licensed Nurse (LPN/LVN), you’ll provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), helping our kiddos grow, play, and thrive in a safe and supportive setting. This is afull-time position (36+ hours per week on average)offering you the opportunity to make a meaningful difference while practicing excellence in pediatric nursing care. •Essential Job Functions As a core member of our clinical team, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the health, safety, and happiness of each child. •⚕️Clinical Care & Monitoring + Monitor and document each patient’s status through ongoing observation and assessment. + Identify patient care priorities to ensure delivery of quality nursing services. + Notify the supervising RN of any changes in patient status, new physician orders, or updates to the plan of care. + Implement physician’s orders and communicate status updates to the care team and families. + Maintain thorough, accurate documentation of care, progress, and communications. •Collaboration & Communication + Foster and maintainstrong, collaborative relationshipswith the interdisciplinary healthcare team. + Assess family dynamics, strengths, and needs related to each child’s medical condition and development. + Provideeducation, counseling, and emotional supportto families, helping them navigate their child’s care. + Participate incase management meetings, staff training, and in-servicesto ensure quality and consistency in care delivery. •Leadership & Professional Development + Serve as amentor and resourcefor new employees during orientation. + Demonstrate initiative and sound clinical judgment in decision-making. + Stay informed on currentpediatric trends, research, and advancementsin nursing care. + Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures, and the Nurse Practice Act. •Clinical Expertise & Skill Application + Administer oxygen, aerosol treatments, and medications as ordered. + Manage and monitorfeeding tubes (G-tube, N/G, J-tube)and IV therapies. + Start peripheral IVs and administer medications via IV or port as appropriate. + Supervise preparation of meals, snacks, and feedings according to patient needs. + Respond promptly topediatric emergenciesand provide necessary interventions. + Open or close the center as assigned per shift schedule. + Completeannual skills labs, mandatory in-services, and required CEUs. •Requirements + Active LPN or LVN licensein the state of practice. + No disciplinary board action related to nursing license. + Proficient knowledge ofhome ventilators, tracheostomies, suctioning, apnea monitors, oxygen, and tube feedings. + Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. + Negative TB test or chest X-ray. + Satisfactory criminal background check. + Knowledge ofquality care standardsfor medically complex children. •Other Skills & Abilities + Maintain strictconfidentiality and professional boundaries. + Stay calm and professional under pressure. + Strongleadership, critical thinking, and decision-makingskills. + Excellenttime management, organization, and communicationabilities. + Dedicated commitment toclinical excellence and compassionate care. + Ability to train, supervise, and support team members. + Comfort working withdiverse families and cultural backgrounds. •Physical Requirements + Ability tospeak, read, write, and understand English. + Capable offrequent standing, walking, lifting, bending, kneeling, and crouching. + Ability to assist in lifting patients up to50 lbs (with help as needed). + Sufficient strength and manual dexterity to operate medical equipment safely. + Must possessstrong hearing, vision, touch, and smell acuity. + Able torespond swiftly in emergency situationsand provide physical support or CPR as required. + Flexible and agile — ready to move, adapt, and protect children when needed. •Work Environment + Function effectively in diverse environments, including exposure tolatex, allergens, blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases. + May involvetransporting patientsor assisting during travel between home and center. + Maintain asafe, clean, and positive environmentfor every child in your care. •️Other Duties This job description provides an overview of responsibilities but is not all-inclusive.
