Payroll & HR GeneralistKey Responsibilities:
+ Process weekly payroll and manage time clock data for accuracy.
+ Collaborate with employees and managers to verify and correct time entries, including PTO, late arrivals, and absences.
+ Review payroll reports for accuracy, funding, deductions, and general ledger alignment.
+ Prepare wage verifications, check requests, and maintain vacation/sick time records.
+ Manage 401(k) contributions, matches, loans, and annual census reporting for benefits and retirement plans.
+ Handle new hire onboarding, including E-Verify, CT State reporting, and payroll record updates.
+ Coordinate temporary staffing with agencies and supervisors; track attendance and conduct safety orientations.
+ Generate periodic reports on earnings, taxes, deductions, and ACA compliance.
+ Support benefits enrollment and conduct one-on-one sessions with new hires.
+ Maintain frozen pension files and assist with calculations and updates.
+ Manage HR documentation including I-9s, employee files, and safety records.
+ Lead new hire orientation, handbook reviews, and safety training.
+ Assist with workers’ compensation claims and maintain first aid supplies.
+ Prepare safety meeting minutes and update emergency evacuation materials.
+ Monitor daily time and attendance for all employees.
+ Order office supplies and maintain internal communications (e.g., birthday lists, phone directories).
+ Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
+ Payroll processing and data entry
+ HRIS systems (preferably Paycor)
+ Knowledge of payroll tax, garnishments, and compliance
Qualifications:
+ Associate’s degree or equivalent experience (4–6 years in payroll/HR)
+ Bilingual in Spanish and English
+ SHRM certification preferred
+ Experience with Paycor HRIS/Payroll system
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.06 - $40.86/hr.
