Job Title: Controller
Type: Contract-to-hire
Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Controller to manage monthly and year-end accounting close procedures, review journal entries, accruals, and other adjusting entries, perform account balance reconciliations, and prepare reports. You will provide leadership and support for our accounting teams in the US and internationally while ensuring compliance with corporate policies and internal controls. Your role will involve continuous assessment and improvement of current accounting operations, overseeing tax return preparation and review, and acting as the key contact for external auditors. Additionally, you will manage cash flow, forecasting, and ad hoc reporting.
Responsibilities
+ Manage monthly and year-end accounting close procedures.
+ Review journal entries, accruals, and other adjusting entries.
+ Perform account balance reconciliations and prepare reports.
+ Provide leadership and support for US and international accounting teams.
+ Ensure compliance with corporate policies, procedures, and internal controls.
+ Assess current accounting operations and recommend improvements.
+ Oversee preparation and review of tax returns and regulatory reporting.
+ Act as key contact for external auditors for the US, Ireland, and UK entities.
+ Manage cash flow and forecasting.
+ Perform ad hoc reporting and other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in accounting, general ledger, and financial reporting.
+ CPA certification or on track for CPA.
+ Experience in the manufacturing industry.
+ Expertise in leading GL and closing procedures.
+ Experience leading and managing a team of 5 or more.
+ Familiarity with Dynamics 365 preferred.
+ Skills in reconciliation, month-end processes, financial statement preparation, finance, and reporting.
+ Knowledge of cost accounting, journal entry, audit, budgeting, forecasting, balance sheet, bank reconciliation, and consolidations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 10 or more years of related general accounting experience in a complex environment (preferably manufacturing).
+ Proven success in hiring, training, and motivating an accounting team.
+ Experience working with multiple entities in a multi-currency environment.
+ Knowledge of MS D365 preferred but not required.
+ Ability to lead and manage a team with diverse personalities.
Work Environment
You will have the opportunity to lead and manage a team, with a high potential for permanent placement based on your interest. The role will have four direct reports and two indirect reports (Staff Accountants, AP, AR & Cost Accountants).
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75.00 - $90.00/hr.
