The Mojang Studios Quality Engineering Team is looking for an experienced Quality Engineer II to join us on our mission to Build a Better World. This role will specialize in player telemetry and quality analytics, turning raw signals into actionable insights, and helping us ship with confidence.
As a Quality Engineer II in data and telemetry, you will partner closely with Quality Engineers embedded with feature teams to build reliable data workflows and publish dashboards that tell a clear quality story across platforms.

Responsibilities
+ Build and maintain data workflows that transform game/client signals into trustworthy, timely views of quality (e.g., stability, performance, correctnesserrors), and publish dashboards that stakeholders can use to make release decisions.
+ Plan and validate telemetry for upcoming features with partner teams. Define the key quality signals, success metrics, and guardrail alerts for prerelease and production. Ensure events are correct, reliable, and privacyconscious.
+ Investigate anomalies and trends in player data; triage issues, quantify player impact, and partner with feature owners to drive fixes and prevention
+ Enable and upskill embedded Quality Engineers and partner teams on using telemetry and dashboards; create repeatable patterns, templates, and documentation to scale data-informed quality practices.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
+ Master's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 2+ years software industry experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 4+ years software industry experience
+ OR equivalent experience
+ Experience working with telemetry data, including the ability to query datasets and develop data visualizations to evaluate software quality and performance
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience with game development environments and multi-platform telemetry
+ Passion for Minecraft
+ Experience building and maintaining data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Power Automate, Azure Logic Apps, etc.
+ Experience with C#/Python or similar languages
Software Quality Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
