    As a Social Media Strategist on Microsoft’s Culture & Influence Communications team, you will be responsible for developing culturally resonant, insight-driven social media strategy as part of integrated communications campaigns that include PR, web, social and physical events. This role combines deep expertise in social media with a holistic understanding of integrated marketing communications, ensuring alignment between business strategy, communications goals, social strategy, creative development, paid amplification, cross-platform storytelling, and analytics. Your work will amplify cutting edge innovation from Microsoft across the leading business products, AI, scientific discovery, and more.     Responsibilities

    + Campaign leadership - Develop end-to-end social strategies including defining objectives, creative concept development, execution, and analytics to contribute to the success of marketing communications campaigns.

    + Integrate social strategy into broader marketing communications campaign plans, effectively leveraging in-feed, community management, collaborations, as well as paid, earned, owned communications channels, to contribute to business goals.

    + Proactively advise colleagues and stakeholders on innovative approaches to reach communications goals with social media.

    + Coordinate with outside agency partners to help execute strategy, including coordinating production timelines, asset delivery, and campaign execution.

    + Ensure adherence to brand voice and tone across all touchpoints.

    + Social media planning and execution Platform: Develop platform-specific strategies that leverage the Microsoft flagship social channels and support integrated communications campaigns.

    + Content strategy and creative direction: Translate audience data and insights into compelling social media creative concepts to support marketing communications campaigns. Partner with creative teams to ensure assets are optimized for each platform’s best practices (e.g., user behavior, vertical video, interactive features).

    + Analytics and performance: Define KPIs for engagement, reach, sentiment, and conversion.

    + Use analytics tools (e.g., Sprinklr, native platform insights) to monitor performance and inform iterative improvements.

    + Deliver actionable insights to stakeholders through clear reporting and facilitated discussion.

    + Community management and brand safety: Develop plans for comment moderation, escalation protocols, and social issues management during a campaign.

    Qualifications

    Required/minimum qualifications

    + Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Finance, or related field AND 2+ years Communications, Marketing Operations, Field Operations, Program Management, Project Management, or related experience OR equivalent experience.

    + 3+ years experience working for a corporate brand OR 5+ years of experience working in social media, communications or public relations, either in corporate environments or agency settings.

    + Demonstrated experience to tailor content strategies to platform-specific algorithms, audience behaviors, and creative formats.

    + Proven experience delivering corporate brand social media campaigns with measurable business outcomes.

    + Demonstrated use of major social media platforms and emerging channels for a corporate brand.

    + Demonstrated track record leveraging cultural trends and platform innovations to inform creative and content decisions for a corporate brand.

    + Demonstrated and innovative use of community management.

    + Successful partnerships with creative agencies to help execute social media plans.

    Additional or preferred qualifications

    + Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Finance, or related field AND 4+ years Communications, Marketing Operations, Field Operations, Program Management, Project Management, or related experience OR equivalent experience.

    + 2+ years experience working with social media platforms.

     

    Communications IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $85,100 - $169,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $112,000 - $185,300 per year.
