As a **Princip** **a** **l Technic** **a** **l Progr** **a** **m M** **a** **n** **a** **ger** for Quantum Developer Tools, you will lead programs that empower developers to build quantum applications using Microsoft’s Quantum Development Kit (QDK), Q#, and Azure Quantum services. This role combines technical depth, strategic vision, and cross-functional leadership to deliver tools that make quantum programming accessible, productive, and scalable.

Responsibilities
+ **Drive Str** **a** **tegy & Execution:** Define and deliver the roadmap for quantum developer tools, including QDK, language integrations, simulators, and cloud workflows.
+ **Technic** **a** **l Le** **a** **dership:** Partner with engineering teams to design solutions for complex technical challenges such as compiler optimizations, hybrid workflows, and integration with Visual Studio Code and GitHub Copilot.
+ **Progr** **a** **m M** **a** **n** **a** **gement Excellence:** Manage large-scale, cross-functional initiatives spanning software engineering, research, and product strategy. Ensure clarity, alignment, and timely delivery across multiple stakeholders.
+ **Customer & Developer** **A** **dvoc** **a** **cy:** Engage with quantum developers, researchers, and ecosystem partners to gather feedback, identify pain points, and translate insights into actionable improvements.
+ **Innov** **a** **tion & Qu** **a** **lity:** Champion best practices for security, compliance, and performance in developer tools. Drive continuous improvement in usability, reliability, and scalability.

Qualifications
Required qu** **a** **lific** **a** **tions
+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or related fieldAND 6+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, dataanalysis, or product development
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ 3+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
+ Familiarity with programming languages (C#, Python, or Q#), cloud services, and distributed systems.
+ Proven experience leading complex programs, influencing without formal authority, and communicating effectively with both technical and executive audiences.

+ Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
+ Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
+ Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This role will require access to information that is controlled for export under export control regulations, potentially under the U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations or Export Administration Regulations, the EU Dual Use Regulation, and/or other export control regulations. As a condition of employment, the successful candidate will be required to provide proof of citizenship, U.S. permanent residency, or other protected status (e.g., under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3)) for assessment of eligibility to access the export-controlled information. To meet this legal requirement, and as a condition of employment, the successful candidate’s citizenship will be verified with a valid passport. Lawful permanent residents, refugees, and asylees may verify status using other documents, where applicable.
+ Ability to evaluate agentic solutions with measurable metrics and human-in-the-loop safeguards following Microsoft Responsible AI requirements for generative AI.
+ Ability to leverage AI tools to drive innovation and efficiency (e.g., performance modeling and analysis, research gathering, day to day task automation).

+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or related fieldAND 12+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, dataanalysis, or product development
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ 8+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
+ 1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).
+ Knowledge of quantum computing concepts and frameworks (QDK, Qiskit, Cirq) and hybrid cloud architectures.
+ Experience with compiler technologies, SDK development, or developer productivity tools.
+ Deep analytical and problem-solving skills with a bias for action.
Technical Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
