The Cloud Sourcing, Security and Sustainability (CS3) organization within Cloud Supply Chain manages sourcing, strategy, and suppliers to provide cost, flexibility, and supply advantages that enable our org to become a world-class supply chain. Well-defined and executed sourcing and supply chain management ensures reliable, on-time performance and optimized cost, prevents urgent and unplanned investments, and provides accurate and timely information across the supply base and internally across the infrastructure organization. Responsibilities
+ Establish the appropriate Supply Chain and Test Engineering pillar with cross-functional stakeholders to drive long-term goals of technology adoption, product validation and qualification for networking products.
+ Engage early with Microsoft network engineering, NPI, and program/product management teams to establish product performance requirements to perform unit and system qualifications.
+ Provide thought-leadership and manage strategic initiatives with internal stakeholders and partners’ teams to support cloud supply chain objectives and strategies.
+ Partner with Microsoft sourcing teams, networking OEMs, networking silicon, and AECs/optical module, cable/interconnect suppliers, Network Interface Cards, and System Integrators to build test platforms for network products and drive multi-sourcing qualifications.
+ Capture, document, and communicate Microsoft feedback to Microsoft partners to enable on-time, on-budget, and product performance.
+ Lead capability audit, evaluation, and support outsourced test supplier selection process through cross-functional analysis of supplier infrastructure, and network product test capabilities.
Qualifications
Required qualifications:
+ Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 3+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles
+ OR Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 4+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ 4+ years of experience in product development and validation engineering, component engineering, field application engineering, and/or similar roles with specialization and exposure to networking product development, manufacturing, and validation.
+ 2+ years of experience with automated testing, and continuous improvement practices
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:
+ Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred qualifications:
+ Master’s degree in an Engineering discipline, Materials Science, or related field in quality, program management, sourcing, supplier development engineering, process engineering, yield management in operations, and/or equivalent experience.
+ Proven understanding of cloud network technologies; switches, routers, security appliances, optics/optical modules.
+ Experience in design, manufacturing process, component selection and validation, semiconductor and PCB/A manufacturing process flow, test and yield management, and troubleshooting system assembly and interconnect issues (e.g., pin deformation, latching, PSU failures, link flaps, and network layer 1–3 performance testing).
+ Demonstrated ability to build and nurture key stakeholder relationships, including experience working with internal teams, suppliers, customers, System Integrators, and ODM/OEMs, with strong storytelling and influencing skills.
+ Thrives in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
Sourcing Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
