The Brooklyn Center Community Schools (BCCS) District is seeking applicants to join our elementary building as a Lunch and Recess Support Aide Substitute. The Lunch and Recess Support Aide Substitute supports daily operations during the lunch and recess hours. We are looking to hire for an on call employee to fill in when needed, would need to have availabilty Monday- Friday 10am-2pm. Current staff who can be avialable during these times are encouraged to apply.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

+ Follows the schedules, protocols and procedures of lunch and recess

+ Comes prepared and on time

+ Builds positive relationships scholars and staff

+ Speaks positively to scholars

+ Models how to open containers

+ Communicates with nutrition staff and nurses when needed to ensure dietary needs are followed

+ Discourages sharing of food

+ Provides active supervision

+ Monitors scholars for medical needs and safety

Pay and Benefits: $17.54- $21.14/hour based on experienceDuty Days: 185 Days, school year positionDuty Hours:10:00am- 2:00pm Monday- Friday

Qualifications and Requirements:

+ High school diploma or GED preferred

+ Experience working with children preferred

+ Previous experience working with diverse populations preferred

+ Able to stand for long periods of time

+ Able to clean tables

+ Able to actively supervise and respectfully interact with children

+ Able to follow a schedule

+ Be outside on snow and cold days as well as other temps
