**Pay:** $20/hr (firm) + $0.75 shift differential
**Shift:** 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM, Monday through Friday
**Type:** Contract-to-Hire
**Location:** Roanoke, VA
The Chemical Sampler is responsible for collecting and preparing samples of incoming raw materials for laboratory testing. This role ensures materials meet company and regulatory standards while maintaining compliance with cGMP and GLP guidelines. You will work independently on the 2nd shift and collaborate closely with production, R&D, and quality teams.
Key Responsibilities
+ Collect samples of incoming raw materials in accordance with cGMP and GLP requirements.
+ Verify receivers and review Certificates of Analysis to confirm material identity and accuracy.
+ Accurately weigh, label, and document samples taken.
+ Pull raw materials as requested by R&D or production teams.
+ Support internal and external audits through precise documentation and adherence to procedures.
+ Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area; properly dispose of materials and containers.
+ Assist in tagging approved raw materials and moving them within the warehouse using power industrial trucks.
+ Participate in special projects as assigned by management.
+ Follow all safety rules and maintain compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
Education:
+ High School Diploma or GED required
Experience:
+ 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing or quality role preferred (cosmetics, food, or pharma a plus)
Skills & Abilities:
+ Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
+ Comfortable working on a small team or individually on 2nd shift
+ Reliable, motivated, and eager to learn
+ Proficient in basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
+ Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation
+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
