Summary You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the COMBAT SYSTEMS (CS) ENGINEERING DIVISION of SOUTHEAST REG MAINTENANCE CTR SERMC. Responsibilities You will be accountable for the proper and efficient use of all assigned resources (personnel, funding, management analysis and equipment) to execute division and achieve division goals. You will develop and maintain current Division policy and regulatory guidance for accomplishing mission essential responsibilities in a cost effective and timely manner while maintaining the highest level of repair and technical standards. You will participate in long-range strategic plan development for the SERMC by positioning the Division to meet the ever- changing maintenance needs of the fleet while supporting the SERMC strategic planning process. You will provide emphasis to managers of daily workload priorities and their impact to long-range schedules while reviewing Division staffing requirements and make recommendations for military and civilian position changes. You will establish Division controls ensuring compliance with higher-level directives, maximizing effective use of resources, and minimizing the potential of fraud, waste, and abuse. You will develop Division training requirements ensuring required future skill sets are developed, approve training plans, determine decisions on non- routine training and evaluate requests related to the employees’ training necessity. You will coordinate with high-ranking managers and officials of other organizations to influence positions and persuade the group to accept a position, concept, or goal when philosophical differences and competing objectives exist You will present to senior Navy and high-ranking civilian officials positions regarding resources (budget, personnel, equipment) and a variety of repair and technical issues. You will promote the achievement of SERMC EEO goals by ensuring Division decisions are free of prohibited bias in areas of selection, promotion, work assignments, and training. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience working as a GS-0802-13 or higher in a similar engineering capacity. Experience gained as a General Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineer or Naval Architect at the GS-13 level or higher would also be acceptable previous job series.
