    This position is open to all current Maintenance Supervisor I and Maintenance Supervisor IIs (Car Equipment)

    Responsibility:

    Operations Training provides approximately 350 individual courses focusing on: safety, technical and operational training for new hires, promoted, and incumbent employees. Programs are designed in partnership with New York City Transit's departmental management and where appropriate, other MTA agencies, in response to mandates by Federal, State and City entities.

     

    Operations Training (Car Equipment) is seeking a highly motivated person to join their team of instructors. The Instructor is responsible for the development and delivery of training programs in the classroom and at various field locations. The Instructor is also responsible for, but not limited to, supervising and instructing students in the operation, inspection, troubleshooting and maintenance of NYC Transit subway cars and associated equipment, developing and writing lesson plans, and developing and maintaining training aids and mock-ups. The instructor will also be responsible for planning, organizing and coordinating the delivery of both computer-based and instructor-led training. Additional responsibilities include maintaining records, preparing evaluations and reports on trainees, preparation and delivery of formal presentations, reviewing subway car purchasing contracts and vendor provided training material, attending vendor training, and performing administrative tasks.

    Maintenance Supervisor II (Car Equipment) Salary Range:

    1st Step – Entrance $112,717

     

    2nd Step – 7th Month $114,313

     

    3rd Step – 2nd Year $118,338

    Education and Experience:

    This position is open to current Maintenance Supervisors (Car Equipment) employees who have a permanent status in title.

    Desired Skills:

    + Must possess thorough knowledge of the policies and procedures as outlined in the NYCT Rules and Regulations and the Division of Car Equipment Safety Rule Books.

    + Must be proficient in troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining all aspects of subways cars, diesel locomotives, and work trains.

    + Must be able to organize and present training material in an effective manner.

    + Must possess excellent writing and verbal communication skills. Computer aptitude including Microsoft Office Power Point, Word, and Excel programs.

    + Knowledge of and experience with Millennial Fleet subway cars (R142 – R211) is preferred.

    + Familiarity with Hexagon/RSMIS

    + Ability to use resources effectively and adapt to changing condition

    Based on evaluation of education, skills, experience and interview.
