    Overview:

    The Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit (CSICU) department at St. Anthony Hospital is a 24-bed ICU for patients with varied medical and surgical treatment needs. This includes recovering patients after open heart surgery and aortic repair. Cardiac devices include, but not limited to, Intra-aortic balloon pump, Impella and Left Ventricular Assist Devices and Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). Patients with severe sepsis, abdominal surgery, acute respiratory diseases are also cared for within CSICU. Our associates work in a collaborative environment with multiple specialty providers and interventionalists. Our CSICU nurses actively use critical thinking while building on their skills. CSICU has developed multiple pathways to continually enrich and empower our associates.

     

    We will be starting ECMO in April 2025 first as a nurse/perfusionist model transitioning to nurse/nurse model in the summer 2025.

    As a Registered Nurse (RN) you will assume responsibility and accountability for:

    + Facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient.

    + Promote the optimal health, well-being and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act.

    + Demonstrate personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.

    Weekend Option Commitment & Differential

    + RN Weekend Option position requires six month commitment to working weekend schedule. $10/hr weekend option differential applies for Saturday and Sunday shifts.

    Qualifications:

    In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified nursing candidates will need the following:

    + RN License required; Current state nursing licenses or RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact,

    + Nursing Diploma or Associates Degree in Nursing required; Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred

    + Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required for new graduates, preferred for experienced RN's

    + BLS from the American Heart Association required

    + ACLS from the American Heart Association required within 6 months of hire

    + NIHSS required within 6 months of hire

    + One year RN ICU experience

    + Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty

     

    Physical Requirements - Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)

     

    *Shift is 6:45am-7:15pm
