Job Description :
Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Finance, the Vice President of Corporate Finance is responsible for areas within the Methodist Health System Finance team designed to maximize the hospital and corporate financial performance and contribute to the overall healthcare system’s strategic and operational goals through innovative leadership and accountability.
Primary Accountabilities/Duties:
1. Responsible for the system’s Decision Support program, which includes oversight of the employees and management of the cost accounting tool and vendors. In so doing, this role oversees the preparation, analysis, and reporting of cost accounting data for administration, service line leaders, corporate finance, and external parties.
2. Works with Business Development, medical group leadership, and hospital leadership concerning expansion of existing services and new hospital services. Duties include review and compilation of financial data and preparation of proformas when needed.
3. Oversees the system’s labor productivity department, which includes oversight of the employees and management of the labor benchmarking and productivity vendors. With the labor productivity department, oversees the labor benchmarking program including facilitation of the periodic reporting and process of accountability with the facilities to meet standards.
4. In partnership with the VP of Corporate Budgeting and labor productivity department, facilitates coordination of FTE and labor planning with VPs of Finance.
5. Accountable for finance systems, which includes the oversight of the Finance Systems team and related tools, including but not limited to Workday and StrataJazz Operating Budget and Cost Accounting.
6. In keeping with Methodist Health System budget plan, policies, and procedures, participates in the system’s formal budget program, including, but not limited to, coordination of business development activity in the budget and support and maintenance of tools used in the budget process.
7. Responsible for execution of the overall finance team systems vision, including coordination with vendors, coordination with finance team on needs, and a proactive approach to identifying solutions.
8. In coordination with other Finance leadership, ensure maximum compliance with regulatory agencies, organizational goals, policies, procedures and contract terms.
9. Performs other related accountabilities / duties as required or directed.
Knowledge/ Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance related major. Graduate degree preferred.
Experience: 10+ years of experience in acute hospital finance environment. 8+ years of supervisory experience. Proven experience in financial systems, proforma development, monitoring of financial statements, decision support, and labor productivity.
Licensure/Certification/Registration Certified Public Accountant – preferred.
