Position Summary
We are seeking an Associate Engineer with specialty in Server Operating Systems and Hypervisors to join our team. The Associate SysAdmin Engineer is responsible for ensure the stability of our Server and Hypervisor landscape OnPrem and Cloud throughout the Operating Systems lifecycle.
Responsibilities
+ Identify opportunities for enhancement of service delivery, security, and operation in Server environment Physical and Virtual (On Premise and Cloud)
+ Deliver Operating System services withing Service Targets and Service Level Agreements
+ Maintain inventory of physical and virtual servers
+ Respond and remediate incidents within Service Targets
+ Escalation response to L1 resources
+ Ensure documentation is created and followed for all operational procedures
+ Deliver expected outcomes to requests and projects
+ Maintain a stable and effective Operating System environment through upgrades and continuous improvement.
+ Test and provide feedback on automation workflows and platforms to improve quality and efficiency of operations.
+ Support Disaster Recovery and Resiliency design, implementation, and execution.
+ Provide effective communication to set expectations and status to customers, management, and other IT teams.
+ Other activities as requested
Required Professional Skills/Experience:
+ Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT or related field; or equivalent work experience
+ Minimum 1 year’s IT proven experience administering Windows and Linux Server Operating Systems
+ Vmware Hypervisor
+ Self-motivated to find and recommend improvements and learn new technologies.
+ Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and matrixed organization
+ Good communication, and interpersonal skills to technical and non-technical audiences
+ Strong values in line with Bridgestone’s behavioral expectations (Courage, Agility, Ownership)
+ Fluent English
Preferred Professional Skills/Experience
+ 1 years’ experience in large organizations following ITSM best practices like ITIL
+ Experience operating within Agile delivery methodologies as a member of a distributed team.
+ Nutanix Hypervisor
+ Cloud based experiences (AWS or Azure)
+ Experience migrated Servers from on-premise to cloud
Worked in an environment that leverages a Managed Service Provider
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent work experience
