Job Overview
The Catering & Wedding Sales Manager is responsible for soliciting, booking, and detailing weddings, social events, and catering functions, as well as managing wedding room blocks. Event planning includes all aspects of group and event coordination from the signing of a group contract forward, for example, timelines, floor plans, billing requirements, catering detailing - including menu and bar selections, all event details and requirements including AV needs, VIP requirements, amenities, group resumes, rooming lists, registration cards, invoice processing, etc
This position plays a key role in achieving and exceeding revenue goals by maximizing event and catering space utilization, while maintaining The Stanley’s reputation for exceptional service and memorable events.
Responsibilities
+ Solicit, negotiate, and book new and repeat business through proactive sales efforts such as calls, networking, and partnerships.
+ Manage all aspects of event planning and execution, from signed contract to final billing.
+ Create and distribute Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), group resumes, timelines, and floor plans.
+ Work closely with the culinary, banquet, and operations teams to ensure flawless event delivery.
+ Serve as the main point of contact for wedding clients and social groups, ensuring clear communication and timely follow-up.
+ Conduct site visits and tastings, offering recommendations and creative solutions to enhance the guest experience.
+ Maintain accurate records and prepare reports as needed.
+ Stay current on hotel offerings, policies, and competitive set to maximize sales effectiveness.
+ Work closely with offsite caterers and wedding vendors.
Qualifications
Education/Formal Training
More than two years of post -high school education
Experience
Experience required by position is from one to two full years of employment in a related position with this company or other organization(s).
Skills & Knowledge:
+ Strong understanding of catering, food & beverage, and event planning best practices.
+ Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
+ Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities at once.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office & Delphi; experience with hotel sales systems preferred.
+ Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required by event schedule.
+ Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for off-site appointments.
Physical Demands

+ Frequent standing, walking, and light lifting (up to 50 lbs).
+ Ability to move quickly throughout the property to service events and conduct site inspections.
+ Visual and auditory acuity sufficient for event oversight and guest communication.
+ Bending/kneeling - taping down cords, skirting tables, picking up floor after function, occasionally.
+ Mobility - ability to service clients on a moments notice, variable distances. Continuous standing - function observation, client site inspections (one hour minimum to four hours maximum). Climbing - up to 55 steps, 3-5% of 10 hours.
Environment
Work inside 70% of 10 hour day; outside 30% of 10 hour day.
