Position Overview:
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation seeks a manager to support innovative and cutting-edge initiatives within our Workforce portfolio. The initiatives in this workstream address some of the most pressing issues in our society, including the need for workers to have new and better pathways to quality jobs. This position is an opportunity to be part of a team that elevates creative, groundbreaking solutions to address workforce issues in our ever-changing economy.
The successful candidate will be detail oriented with strong project management skills and a strong team player, willing to jump in and support a variety of tasks. The candidate will be open to working across multiple initiatives and with multiple members of our collegial team. The candidate will have a broad interest in the workforce issues facing our country and be comfortable communicating and interfacing with a wide range of internal and external partners. Responsibilities:
+ Support Chamber Foundation workforce initiatives, including Employer Provided Innovation Challenges (EPIC), the T3 Innovation Network, the Jobs and Employment Data Exchange (JEDx), JobSIDE (Job Skills for In-Demand Employment), and Talent Finance.
+ Track program deliverables and budget allocations in relation to grants and partnership agreements.
+ Draft correspondence to funders and partners.
+ Draft statements of work and engagement letters for consultants and external partners and track consultant deliverables.
+ Build and update PowerPoint decks and other program presentations.
+ Provide administrative support, including tracking correspondence, maintaining email distribution lists, maintaining network lists, and tracking expenses and invoices.
+ Support the planning and execution of events across our workforce initiatives, including building agendas, tracking attendee registration, corresponding with speakers, coordinating with catering and AV vendors, monitoring expenses, and arranging travel for attendees.
+ Provide on-the-ground support at events, including setting up event spaces, managing attendee check-in, greeting speakers and other guests, monitoring catering, and interfacing with event planners and caterers.
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree and 1-2 years of relevant work experience, an associate degree and 2-4 years of relevant work experience, or no degree and 4-6 years of relevant work experience.
+ Experience in the workforce development space and with project management. Candidates with other backgrounds will be considered.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office software, including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
+ Familiar with Zoom and other web-based meeting platforms.
+ Able to think critically and problem solve.
+ Ability to work independently on tasks and responsibilities in a hybrid workplace environment.
+ Experience in project or program management and the demonstrated ability to make effective use of project management applications.
+ Interpersonal and customer service skills and the ability to be responsive and diplomatic when working with partners, funders, and consultants.
+ Willingness to occasionally travel to events sponsored by our workforce programs and strategic partners.
+ Experience managing or contributing to event planning and execution is a plus.
The salary range for this position is $73,697.00 to $90,000.00. The actual salary paid for this position will vary based on market data, an applicant’s qualifications, relevant degrees, certifications, and other factors. Our full-time employees are eligible for benefits, including health care, vision, dental, retirement, and paid leave.
