    Industrial Engineer - Samples

    Position Overview

    Shaw Industries is seeking and Industrial. Engineer for our Samples group. The Industrial Engineer will develop, lead, and execute initiatives for all Samples (includes inside operations, Merchandising, Digital/Print/Trim, Planning and Vendor Management). This position will own cost analysis, will create, maintain and communicate key metrics, and help create efficiencies by reducing waste and increasing speed.

    Responsibilities:​

    + Cost analysis and control for all locations and departments within the Samples Division.

    + Create, track and report key metrics.

    + Develop time standards and performance standards.

    + Manage and update Operational and Capital Budgets.

    + Evaluate supplier and material selection.

    + Provide oversight and recommendations for optimizing product flows through the supply chain.

    + Help establish, monitor and report capacity and utilization levels through each area of Samples.

    + Lead teams through project planning and implementation.

    + Troubleshoot systems as needed and make recommendations for improvements.

    + Special project analysis and recommendations.

    + Submit capital and expense projects relating to each department and general plant needs

    + Determine savings for capital and projects.

    + Works in a team environment to maximize company resources.

    + Sets challenging goals and works diligently to achieve them.

    + Exhibits implied authority in effort to achieve results throughout the organization.

    + Determines action steps and milestones required to implement a specific business initiative; adjusts activities or timelines as circumstances warrant.

    Qualifications

    + Possesses minimum 4 year college degree in Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.

    + Minimum of 2 years' experience.

    + Experience working on applicable projects.

    + Has the capacity to understand and communicate the unique characteristics of each samples product.

    + Communicates with people at various levels of the company in a clear and concise manner.

    + Possesses ability to analyze complex data representing multiple product types and processes and make recommendations and decisions based on results.

    + Demonstrates understanding of financial performance metrics and tools (income statements, budget performance, product costing, etc...).

    + Demonstrates good organizational and time-management skills.

    + Possesses computer and software knowledge such as spreadsheets, database management, word processing, etc.

    + Demonstrates ability to manage competing demands.
