    Salary: $80k

     

    My client is looking for a proactive and hands-on Field Network Engineer to join their team in South Florida. In this role, you’ll be out in the field—keeping the region’s intelligent transportation systems (ITS) connected and running smoothly.

     

    Your day might include visiting multiple sites across Miami, Deerfield, Boca Raton, and West Palm Beach to inspect and troubleshoot network devices, fiber optics, and field hardware such as cameras, sensors, and message displays. You’ll use your technical know-how to quickly identify and resolve issues—whether it’s diagnosing a fiber break or getting a camera back online.

     

    You’ll collaborate with internal teams and local partners, communicate findings clearly, and ensure every site is operating at its best. The ideal candidate is both a team player and an independent self-starter—someone who’s confident working in the field, eager to learn, and committed to keeping critical infrastructure connected across South Florida.

    Skills and Requirements

    - 3+ years of hands-on experience in a field-based network, telecommunications, or ITS engineering role

    - Strong troubleshooting skills with networked field devices (e.g., cameras, sensors, fiber systems, communications equipment)

     

    - Working knowledge of network infrastructure (switches, routers, fiber optics, IP addressing, and cabling)

     

    - Experience with Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) or similar technology environments

     

    - Comfortable working outdoors and traveling between sites across South Florida

     

    - Excellent communication skills - ODTDR - fiber optic certification

     

    - Any other relevant certification
