VetsEZ is seeking a Strategic Communications Consultant for a 100% remote position supporting a large federal transformation initiative with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This role will help lead strategic communication and change enablement activities across enterprise-wide modernization programs, ensuring consistent messaging, stakeholder alignment, and adoption of new systems and processes. The candidate will work within a cross-functional environment that includes program leadership, communications, training, and change management teams.
The candidate must reside within the continental US.
Responsibilities:
+ Develop and execute strategic communication plans that drive awareness, engagement, and adoption across large-scale federal transformation efforts.
+ Partner with senior leaders to translate technical and programmatic goals into clear, compelling messaging for internal and external audiences.
+ Manage multi-channel communications strategies, including email campaigns, SharePoint sites, newsletters, and digital engagement platforms.
+ Create performance metrics, dashboards, and feedback loops to measure communication effectiveness and inform data-driven decisions.
+ Lead stakeholder engagement initiatives and change enablement campaigns to strengthen employee morale and alignment with program objectives.
+ Oversee message development, audience segmentation, and content delivery across distributed teams.
+ Contribute to team objectives and take on additional responsibilities as needed.
Requirements:
+ Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, or a related field; Master's degree (MBA) preferred.
+ 10+ years of experience in strategic communications, marketing, or change management within federal or large enterprise environments.
+ Proven success developing and executing communication strategies for large-scale transformation or ERP/financial modernization programs.
+ Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex or technical information.
+ Experience designing and managing communication campaigns using digital tools (e.g., SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Power Apps, GovDelivery).
+ Demonstrated ability to analyze communication data and develop insights to improve engagement and performance.
+ Exceptional collaboration, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
Additional Qualifications:
+ Experience supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) or other federal agencies preferred.
+ Familiarity with organizational change management, employee engagement, and performance measurement strategies.
+ Active Public Trust Clearance or ability to obtain one (existing PIV card preferred).
+ Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Adobe Creative Suite, and data visualization tools is a plus.
