+ Maintain the structural maintenance of building facilities and equipment so that structural integrity, energy, efficiency, security, and physical appearance are maintained.
+ Perform minor repairs to facilities to ensure the safety of occupants and extend the usefulness of the structures.
+ Perform early morning snow removal activities using snow removal equipment.
+ Perform minor custodial duties as directed.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
+ **Class D Driver’s License.**
+ Knowledge of general methods and practices of a variety of trade areas (e.g. mechanics, masonry, welding, electrical, plumbing and carpentry) sufficient to assist licensed trades workers and to repair machinery, tools, and facilities in a timely and safe manner.
+ Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety measures related to trades work sufficient to perform the duties safely and efficiently.
+ Ability to safely use hand and power hand tools.
+ Ability to safely operate and maintain trucks, tractors, and other ground and road maintenance equipment.
+ Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
+ Ability to provide work instructions to unskilled helpers.
+ Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting, carrying, and bending.
Required Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations
+ Registered unlicensed electrician within 6 months of hire.
+ Registered unlicensed plumber within 6 months of hire (or within yearly DOLI date of June)
+ Special boilers license (or greater) within one year of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
+ AAS Degree in Facilities System Technology or Heating, Ventilation, AC Technology with at least two (2) years of experience working in building maintenance or building trades.
+ Knowledge and application of work processing software
+ Ability to perform semi-skilled work in a number of trade areas and to assist with more difficult work.
Additional Requirements
NOTE: The incumbent will be subject to drug and alcohol testing. New employees must pass a pre-placement drug test for evidence of use of marijuana, cocaine, opiates, phencyclidine (PCP) and amphetamines (MDMA, MDA and MDEA) and acetylmorphine (6-AM).
