We are looking for a skilled and motivated Systems Engineer to join our team and play a key role in designing, defining requirements, and creating analysis and testing methodologies for our interior perception systems. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the safety and convenience of future Ford vehicles.
What you'll do...

Develop and apply systematic statistical methods to translate feature-level requirements into specific system performance expectations.
Define and develop performance requirements and associated metrics for perception systems, including establishing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for availability, accuracy, and false positive rates.
Evaluate a variety of perception interfaces, such as gaze and pose angle, and interior zones.
Work with vendors to measure system sensitivity to individual factors (e.g., height, seating position, facial attributes), vehicle characteristics (e.g., sensor packaging, interior geometry), and environmental conditions (e.g., ambient light, sun angle).
Explore and propose system architecture modifications to decrease application sensitivity.
Investigate and implement strategies to reduce sub-demographic systematic errors.
Partner with vendors and our hardware team to refine sensor and illuminator packaging requirements.
Design a validation strategy to quantify system robustness against interacting noise factors for both platform and application sign-off
Define real-world usage profiles to estimate system performance for a representative population in naturalistic driving conditions.
You'll have...
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field of study
3+ years of experience as a systems engineer (in automotive, aerospace, defense, or related industry
