    Description

    Jennifer Fukumae with Robert Half Finance & Accounting is partnering with a private, high-net-worth family office seeking a Family Office Accountant to join their San Francisco team. This is a unique opportunity for an accounting professional to gain hands-on exposure across family office operations, real estate, and alternative investments while working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

     

    Compensation: $90–120K + Bonus

    Key Responsibilities

    + Assist the Controller with accounting and financial reporting tasks for the Family Office and investment portfolios.

    + Manage and perform quality control of outsourced accounting service providers.

    + Maintain general ledgers and accounting records for family investments, residential and commercial properties.

    + Oversee alternative investment portfolios, process capital calls, and subscribe to new investments.

    + Manage bill payments, monitor bank balances, and reconcile accounts.

    + Review monthly bank and brokerage statements; download and file statements and tax documents.

    + Process payments and track government and compliance-related tax filings.

    + Assist with year-end tax workpapers and supporting schedules for external tax advisors.

    + Prepare quarterly personal financial statements and ad-hoc reports.

    + Support special projects, administrative tasks, and process improvements as needed.

    + Collaborate with the Controller and family to maintain and enhance internal controls.

    Requirements

    + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.

    + Minimum 4 years of accounting or operations experience.

    + Family office or high-net-worth tax and accounting experience a plus, but not required.

    + Experience with accounts payable and general ledger accounting required.

    + Tech-savvy with strong proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), Zoom, and other collaboration tools.

    + Familiarity with Yardi Voyager and QuickBooks is preferred.

    + Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex information clearly.
