Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to set up, maintain, and operate machinery, ensuring the efficient and continuous running of production. The ideal candidate is reliable, attentive to detail, and adheres to safety standards. A willingness to learn and improve through on-the-job training is essential. Our goal is to ensure smooth production processes to maximize efficiency and profits.

Responsibilities

+ Assist punch press operators with cutting and setting up materials.

+ Use a shear to cut metal sheets.

+ Ensure accuracy by using a tape measure.

+ Perform calculations using a calculator to add or subtract decimals.

+ Set up machines, including calibration and cleaning, to initiate production cycles.

+ Control and adjust machine settings such as speed.

+ Feed raw materials or parts into semi-automated machines.

+ Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools.

+ Test machine operations periodically.

+ Address any issues that occur during shifts.

+ Check output to identify machine-related mistakes or flaws.

+ Keep records of approved and defective units or final products.

+ Maintain activity logs.

Essential Skills

+ 6 months+ experience working with a punch press.

+ Proven experience as a machine operator.

+ Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers.

+ Understanding of production procedures.

+ Adherence to health and safety regulations, including constant use of protective gear.

+ Attention to detail.

+ Teamwork and communication skills.

+ Physical stamina and strength.

+ High school diploma or equivalent.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with shear, punch press, press brake, and general machine operation.

+ Proficiency with hand and power tools.

+ Ability to use inspection tools, including calipers and micrometers.

+ Familiarity with CNC machines.

Work Environment

The work environment is non-temperature controlled, with bay doors open in the summer and fans running constantly. It is fairly clean but can be louder in certain areas. We provide ear and eye protection to ensure safety.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waconia, Minnesota.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.92 - $23.92/hr.
