Senior Electrical Engineer – System Architect & Team Lead, Laptop Architecture

What you’ll achieve
As a **System Architect and Team Lead** , you will drive the electrical architecture of next-generation laptop platforms while leading a team of engineers through all phases of product development. You will collaborate across disciplines to deliver high-performance, reliable, and cost-effective designs that power Dell’s industry-leading commercial, consumer, and workstation laptops.
You will:
+ Define and document electrical requirements for new laptop platforms, ensuring alignment with performance and reliability goals
+ Lead system-level design reviews and drive cross-functional consensus on architecture decisions
+ Oversee development and validation of high-speed interfaces, power delivery networks, and signal integrity solutions
+ Collaborate with global teams, suppliers, and ODM partners to ensure successful execution and delivery
+ Manage team priorities, resource planning, and technical risks while ensuring compliance with regulatory, safety, and reliability standards

Essential Requirements
+ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with 15+ years of experience in electrical or system-level product design, including 3+ years in a technical leadership role
+ Expertise in analog and digital circuit design, high-speed interfaces (PCIe, USB4, DDR5, DisplayPort), and power delivery systems
+ Strong grasp of system-level trade-offs across electrical, mechanical, thermal, firmware, and BIOS domains
+ Hands-on experience with schematic capture, PCB motherboard design, and mentoring engineering talent
+ Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage complex programs, and ensure compliance with regulatory and reliability standards
Desirable Requirements
+ Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, with prior experience in laptop or mobile system architecture and collaboration with global engineering teams and ODMs
+ Proficient in simulation and design tools such as Cadence, SPICE, and SI/PI tools, supporting advanced system design and validation
Compensation
Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this position is $229,500 - $290,000.
