Job Title: Fab Shop Helper & Assembler

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated metal fab shop Helper and an Assembler to join our team. This role is perfect for someone with prior manufacturing experience who is eager to dive deeper into metal fabrication and industrial manufacturing processes. The successful candidate will assist welders and machinists and will operate punch and press machines following training.

Responsibilities

+ Measure parts accurately using a tape measure and basic shop math.

+ Operate punch and drill press machines.

+ Complete all necessary documentation related to scrap or completed parts.

+ Follow instructions from supervisors, welders, and machine operators.

+ Perform shop cleaning and daily opening/closing tasks throughout the shop.

+ Demonstrate strong attendance, reliability, and a willingness to learn.

Essential Skills

+ Previous manufacturing experience with a strong desire to work in a shop environment.

+ Reliability and a positive attitude, verified via references.

+ Proficiency in using measuring tools, including the ability to read a tape measure and perform basic shop math.

+ Proficiency in hand tools and power tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with machine operation, mechanical assembly, and general labor.

+ Ability to read blueprints and perform fabrication tasks.

Work Environment

The work environment involves exposure to moving mechanical parts and may include wet and/or humid conditions, as well as extreme temperatures. The noise level is typically high, requiring a focus on safety and attention to detail during operations. The schedule is Monday through Friday, from 6am to 2:30pm.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Forest Grove, Oregon.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
