Job Title: Lab Technician
Job Description
The Quality Assurance Laboratory Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring that food safety and quality standards are consistently met. The technician is responsible for conducting necessary tests on raw materials and finished goods, ensuring compliance with quality requirements in accordance with certifications, customer, state, and federal standards.
Responsibilities
+ Perform routine chemical analysis on raw materials and finished products, including pH, moisture, salt, and fat content.
+ Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs).
+ Assist with product sampling, inspection, testing, and other duties to support the hold and release program.
+ Provide feedback to managers and the production team regarding quality-related discrepancies and issues.
+ Support Quality Management during facility visits and audits.
+ Retrieve documentation during the audit process.
Essential Skills
+ Basic laboratory skills including pH testing, moisture analysis, salt and fat content determination.
+ Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
+ Ability to work independently.
+ Knowledge in quality control and food science.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Science (biology, chemistry, food science, or related field) or previous experience in laboratory testing.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
